This year's summer camp was held at Millersylvania State Park near
Olympia, a beautiful, wooded campground on the lakeshore.

After a relatively calm night, thanks in part to the Shindoka-dubbed "bicycle fairies" (aka. Park Rangers on bike patrol), Summer Camp got off to an early start on Saturday morning around 7am, with Charles calling for us all to get up. Breakfast commenced soon afterwards, thanks to the Johnsons' Annual Pancake Feed. |
After breakfast, several Shindoka ventured into Sifu Tara's Tai Chi class for an early morning warm-up . . . |
. . . While the nervous, testing Shindoka started their last-minute practicing. |
Eventually, we all meandered down to the test site, where it took a while for things to get going . . . |
. . . But once they did, it was really something to see! |
We had a quick break between low & high belts.
And then the SERIOUS fun began . . . |
| |
After the test and the potluck were over, we had a Bo seminar before the belt awards. |
| |
After the Bo Seminar, Fay and Charles did a bit of slow Bo sparring . . . |
| |
And that night we had some midnight forms, judos & sparring. Though we couldn't take pictures of the actual event, we do have the evidence from the next morning . . . |
